Almond Crunch

1 1/2 tsp. butter
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup flaked coconut
1 1/2 cup sugar
3tbsp. water
1tbsp. corn syrup
3/4 cup almond slivers
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips melted
Line a 9×13 pan with foil. Grease with 1 1/2tsp. butter. Spread coconut in bottom of pan and set aside. In a saucepan over medium heat combine sugar, water and corn syrup. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 cup butter and cook until candy thermometer reaches 300 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in almonds. Pour over coconut and allow to cool. Once cooled drizzle melted chocolate chips over top of candy. Let cool and bring into pieces. Store in airtight container.
