Anise Crescents

2 c. flour
3 tsp. anise seed
1/2 c. finely ground almonds
1/3 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/2 c. powdered sugar
Put 1 tsp. of anise seed between to sheets of wax paper and crush with a rolling pin.
Place flour on a countertop and sprinkle with the crushed anise seed. Add ground almonds and sugar. Make a well, drop in egg yolks an and cut butter into slices over it.
Knead into a smooth dough and refrigerate for half hour. Take 1 tsp full of dough at a time and form into crescents. Place on greased cookeisheets and bake in preheated 400 degree oven for10-12 minutes until golden. Mix remaining anise seed with powdered sugar and carfully roll each cookiein it while very warm.
Makes 50-60 cookies.
