BROWN BETTY PUDDING

INGREDIENTS:
4 cups apples, sliced
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups bread, cubed
2 teaspoon butter
1/4 cup hot water
Slice the pared apples very fine.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Brush a pan with butter, place a layer of apples on the bottom, then a layer of bread cubes and a half of the sugar.
2. Add another layer of apples, the rest of the bread and the remaining apples.
3. Cover with the rest of the sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon, add 1/4 cup hot water, cover the pan
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or more. Remove cover and brown.
5. Serve with a hard or lemon sauce.
