? 1 pound or more of fresh green beans
? 1/2 onion minced
? 1 clove garlic
? basil to taste
? saltpepper
? 6 slices of bacon minced
? water to cover
? 1/2 stick butter or oleo
? 2 table spoon flour
? 1/4 cup water
? Carnation Evaporated Milk

How to make it:

1. In a cast iron skillet cook bacon until it renders some fat.
2. Add onion and stir
3. Add garlic and stir
4. Add green beans that have been “snapped” into pieces
5. Add basil, salt, pepper
6. Cover with water and cook on low until done
7. Mix flour with water and add to the bean stock to thicken, add Carnation milk to desired thickness
8. Adjust seasonings
Now this and some cornbread… Heaven.
