? C. butter
1 C. sugar
1 egg
? C. molasses
2 C. all-purpose flour

? tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground ginger
Additional sugar

2 tsp. baking soda
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Sift together dry
ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Chill the dough. Roll into 1 ? ” balls
and dip into sugar. Place 2″ apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375? for about 10
minutes or until set and surface cracks. Cool on wire racks. Yields about 4 dozen

One thing is sure–if you laugh at your troubles you will probably always have something to
laugh about.
