Here is the one I use every Christmas. I do double the recipe.

Cream together:
1 ? cups brown sugar
? cup granulated white sugar
2 eggs
Sift together:
2 ? cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Pinch of salt
Combine flour mixture with creamed mixture and add 2 tsp. vanilla.
Put ? cup black walnuts and ? raisins through food chopper and add ? cup flour to them. Add this to dough mixture and knead until well mixed. Mold into 2 strips and refrigerate overnight. Slice and bake in slow oven at 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
