I start out by frying up a lb of bacon,
peeling potatoes and chop into small chunks,
chop onion and celery and carrots,
after bacon is done I drain bacon and save for relish and save about half of the bacon grease
then I take all the vegetables and saut? them with the bacon grease, it gives it a delicious flavor.
I saut? them until the veggies are all tender and then cover the veggies with about 3/4 gallon of milk and give it around 1/2 hour to an hour and then add bacon that you already fried and use it a the garnish.
